about me
Since college, I have been chasing assignments, contests, applications, and so much more to the point that I forgot how and why I started walking the path of a writer in the first place. I grew scared that without any external forces pushing me to write after graduation, my writing journey would come to an end and that this was my peak as a poet. The purpose of my capstone project is discovering how to move forward in my writing journey without having anything to chase, how to combat feeling lost along the way, and what it even means to be a writer. For others feeling lost, I hope this project helps you too.
About My capstone: Discover your writing journey
In the tradition of found poems, for my project, I compiled "found interviews" with four poets: Ocean Vuong, Chen Chen, Franny Choi, and Victoria Chang. The "found interview" is a form I came up with that involved finding different interviews with the authors, picking specific questions from those interviews, highlighting and bolding the parts that struck me as insightful and interesting.

My creative writing focus is on poetry, so I chose these four authors not only because I admire their writing, but because I share similar lived experiences and cultural/familial backgrounds with them. Not everybody will know, like, or relate to these authors and me; nevertheless, I think all writers can learn from each other's journeys. I encourage students and writers of other genres to conduct their own found interviews too.
